About us

Te Ohu is the reconstruction project of one of Maketu's historical sites being led by The Kiore Trust. As of 2015 the site, has been placed as a Maori reservation by the NZ Government. The Trust is made up of members of the immediate Maketu community and Whanau from the reservations historical descendants. The Trust have placed community involvement, and cultural value at the centre of their focus. The Trust encourage engagement from the wider community in this project, please our project timeline for opportunities to become involved.
